About This Study

In the Elevate Study, we are evaluating an investigational drug that works in a similar fashion as one of the currently approved drugs for IPF but is designed to have fewer and less severe side effects. We are seeking people who have not yet begun treatment for their IPF to participate in the Elevate Study.

Currently approved drugs for IPF can slow down the rate at which the symptoms become worse. However, some people who take these drugs cannot tolerate them because of the side effects.

This is why it is important for medical researchers to look for new and, hopefully, better treatments for individuals with IPF.

Before new medications can be approved for public use, they must be tested in research studies like this one. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with IPF and not yet started treatment, please read on to learn more about participating in our study.

Approximately 240 people are expected to participate in the Elevate Study.

What to Expect

  • The study center staff will talk with those people who are interested in participating in this research study.
  • If the study staff feels the person may qualify to participate, study staff will give a detailed explanation of this study and its potential risks and benefits.
  • If the person continues to be interested in the study, the study doctor and staff will review medical history and conduct a few tests to determine whether the potential participant will satisfy all study entry requirements. This screening process may last up to 28 days.
  • Once fully qualified, participants will be officially treated in this study. The treatment period of the study is about 6 months, with a 1-month follow-up period.

Participation Costs

All study-related medical examinations and study treatments are provided to qualified participants at no cost.
